Bio
Seth P. Shapiro joined Herum Crabtree as an associate attorney in 2007 after working for the firm as a law clerk since May 2006. His practice areas focus on Business Law, Corporate Law, Estate Planning, and Commercial Litigation.
Mr. Shapiro frequently advises and assists small and medium size businesses and individuals in negotiating and documenting business transactions including commercial leases, the formation, dissolution, and sale of business entities such as corporations and limited liability companies, purchase and sale agreements, bulk sale agreements, employment contracts, trademark registration, and loan agreements.
In the Commercial Litigation field, Mr. Shapiro has represented clients in trademark and trade name infringement actions, unfair business practices actions, and contract disputes.
Mr. Shapiro also has experience advising clients on estate planning matters and drafting estate planning documents including wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, qualified personal residence trusts as well as representing clients in matters before the Probate Court.
Mr. Shapiro grew up in Ventura County, California and relocated to the Central Valley in 2007, where he currently resides with his wife. He participated in the Honors Program at Loyola Marymount University and earned his Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude, in History with minors in Political Science and Theological Studies in 2002. He received his Juris Doctor from the University of California Davis, King Hall School of Law in 2007. While at Davis, he served as a Research Editor for the Journal of International Law and Policy and competed in the Robert F. Wagner Moot Court Competition at New York Law School.
While attending law school, Mr. Shapiro worked for the Sacramento branch of the Public Employment Relations Board and the Campus Counsel for the University of California, Davis.
Mr. Shapiro is admitted to practice in and before all courts in the State of California. He was admitted to the California State bar in 2007. He is also admitted to practice in the Eastern District of California.
