Jason W. Bank is Member of Kerr, Russell and Weber, PLC and leads the firm’s bankruptcy and restructuring practice.  He specializes in the areas of commercial bankruptcy law, out-of-court workouts and corporate restructurings.  Mr. Bank represents debtors, creditors, trustees and creditors’ committees in Chapter 11 reorganizations and debtors and creditors in out-of-court restructurings and loan workouts.  He has successfully guided numerous businesses in a wide range of industries through the Chapter 11 reorganization and restructuring process from beginning to end.  He also represents debtors and creditors in voluntary and involuntary Chapter 7 bankruptcy proceedings. Mr. Bank also has considerable experience in representing parties buying and selling assets of businesses out of bankruptcy as well as prosecuting and defending preferential transfer and fraudulent conveyance actions.

Mr. Bank is an adjunct professor at the Michigan State University College of Law on the subject of Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization.  He also lectures and publishes frequently for various professional and trade associations on the subjects of bankruptcy and reorganization.  Mr. Bank is listed among “Michigan’s Rising Stars” in the “Michigan Super Lawyers” publication.  He is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, the Turnaround Management Association, the Business Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan and the Debtor/Creditor Rights Subcommittee of the Detroit Bar Association.

Mr. Bank is a graduate of the Wayne State University Law School. In recognition of his academic achievement in law school, Mr. Bank was awarded the Bronze Key Certificate.  Mr. Bank received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Communications from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
