Robert J. Pineau is a Member of Kerr, Russell and Weber, PLC, and specializes in the areas of commercial law, governmental contracting, business litigation, intellectual property and technology law. Mr. Pineau services a variety of individual and corporate clients in the automotive, construction, real estate, computer and high-technology industries. The services provided by Mr. Pineau to these clients include litigation at the trial and appellate levels in state and federal courts; the negotiation, preparation and review of governmental procurement contracts, research and development and technology contracts, domestic and cross-border licenses and intellectual property registrations; the formation of business entities and ongoing business counseling; and real estate matters. Mr. Pineau was lead counsel in a number of significant cases including Sun Valley Foods, Co., v. Ward, 221 Mich App 335 (1997), affirmed by 460 Mich 230 (1999); Township of Casco v. Michigan Boundary Commission, 243 Mich App 392 (2004); and Township of Casco v. Secretary of State, 261 Mich App 386 (2005) affirmed by 472 Mich 566 (2005).
Mr. Pineau is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, the State Bar of New York and various federal district courts, courts of appeals and bankruptcy courts. Mr. Pineau is a member of the American Bar Association and its Section of Litigation and Section of Intellectual Property. Mr. Pineau is a member of the State Bar of Michigan’s Business Law and Computer Law Sections. Mr. Pineau has published articles in professional and trade publications including the Michigan Bar Journal. Mr. Pineau has been appointed to sit as a Wayne County Circuit Court Case Evaluator.
Mr. Pineau received his Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from Syracuse University College of Law in 1986 and received his undergraduate degree from Oakland University. Mr. Pineau was inducted by invitation into the Justinian Honorary Law Society and was a member of the Syracuse Journal of International Law and Commerce. |
